SNOWBOARD AROUND THE WORLD – LOUIS MACINDOE

Hoy presentamos una nueva sección de entrevistas, después de muchos meses de preparativos y mas de un debate al respeto, decidimos que además de alguna foto, se pudiera disfrutar de un mini clip con algunos de los mejores trucos de cada rider, si a esto le sumas que tenemos una gran selección de riders nacionales e internacionales en nuestra lista, el resultado tenía que ser bueno, no?. Esperamos que disfrutéis con este nuevo proyecto.

Nuestra primera entrevista nos llega gracias a Juan Polanco, el cual al enterarse de nuestras intenciones en esta sección nos menciono que había conocido a un australiano que iba muy fino en Bear Mountain. Bien este es el resultado.

¿Años ripando? ¿Cómo empezaste?

Empecé en el 99 ripando una vez por año durante 5 años. Mi primera tempo fue en el 2009 y vi la luz. Sobre como empecé, es mas o menos la historia de todo el mundo, simplemente solía copiar a mi hermano mayor en todo, patinábamos, y eso le dio sentido a mi snowboard.

Sabemos que te mola surfear… que te da mas miedo: los tiburones, los racers(skiadores) o las avalanchas? 

En Australia no hay avalanchas a no ser que se caiga una pared del pipe y me hunda en el barro. Tengo Recco así que los pisteros sondearían hasta que me encontrasen. Los tiburones me dan miedo como creo que a cualquier surfer. Hay una regla del mar en la que se prohibe mencionar este tema.

Qué tipo de musica escuchas a parte de Lady Gaga?

Lady Gaga no tenia p–a? Juro que he visto un video suyo en donde se puede ver su r–o. Cuando no me cuelo en discos de niñatos y me obligan a escuchar a Gaga, pero me gusta escuchar un poco de phycobilly, Spooky Western,  dead ghosts etc.

Este invierno estuviste en Rusia? Que opinas de las pibas de allí? Tuvisteis algún problema con la policía?

Tío,  las mujeres allí están muy buenas. Nunca había visto tantas caras guapas. De todos modos parecían piedras congeladas con una fuerza impenetrable que solo uno de nuestro grupo consiguió romper. A parte de eso vivimos los días mas largos y fríos imaginables y la única cosa que nos subía la moral era cuando una rusa pasaba caminando a nuestro lado y nos quedábamos mirando fijamente sus atributos.

Te vimos ripando por Bear mountain, que piensas de este sitio tan famoso? Es California diferente del resto del mundo?

Es diferente y a la vez no. Australia sea bueno o malo se está pareciendo cada vez más a America. Así que la transición es fácil al igual que tenemos mas o menos la misma comida, idioma, y costumbres como pillarnos un buen pedo después de un buen día de snowboad.

Bear Mountain es lo más de todo esto, ripar con sol en un park con infinitas posibilidades.

Me lo pase muy bien allí a principios de año y no puedo esperar a volver unos meses.

Vamos a hablar de la pelicula Point break (Le Llaman Bodhi). estoy seguro de que la has visto… 

De Australia a Bear mountain a Rusia a Bear .. un buen viaje… ¿ como consigues la pasta? Es tu crew la nueva banda de “EX- Presidents” o es que la crisis no ha llegado aun a Australia?

Bien, han pasado casi 22 años desde que Bodhi, el líder de la banda de los ex-presidentes pilló esa gran tormenta en Bells Beach Australia y hace casi 22 años que yo estoy vivo… Si haces cálculos  hay una posibilidad muy grande de que yo sea Bodhi reencarnado. No he robado ningún banco TODAVIA, pero mi pequeño viaje soviético fue esponsorizado por Bataleon. Tienen  la Triple Base Techology y debes comprar una tabla y así se verán forzados a dar mas pasta a idiotas como yo.

Shaun white o Kelly Slater?

Me criaron para no confiar nunca en un pelirrojo pero mi padrastro lo es y es un buen tío. Parece que Kelly tiene más los pies en el suelo, le sigo en  Instagram y dibuja p—as en sus tablas de surf. A mi me mola dibujar buenos falos por todos los lados- asi que tiene que ser un buen tío.

Si tengo que elegir me quedaba con Kelly. Para ser sabio hay que ser calvo.

 Una ola perfecta o un powder perfecto?

Una ola perfecta, hay pocas aquí donde vivo y cuando se pone bueno no hay nada mejor. Digo esto en parte porque he pillado mucho powder esta tempo así que estoy en modo surfing.

Saltos o rails?

Un buen día de saltos es muy gratificante, pero pasa factura y por eso me quedo con los rails. De todos modos me han bendecido para que en cada resort que he ido haya de los 2 en la misma ronda así que nunca he tenido que elegir.

Teen o Milf?

Como dice el refrán , a caballo regalado no le mires el diente, estoy de rodillas baby.

 Donde sueles ripar?  Que tal es Australia para ripar?

Pilla a la gente de sorpresa, Perisher y Thredbo son las 2 estaciones de por aquí y tienen buenos parks. La peña que curra en ellos son la ostia, especialmente hay uno que se llama Bobba que va con unos pantalones rojos de DC  gigantes y construye los mejores parks. Hemos tenido una tempo muy buena y nuestros parks han estado mejor que nunca.

Recomiendo a la peña que se venga mas a Australia a ripar, Todo el mundo que conozco que ha venido ha vuelto.

Cuéntanos algo de tu crew.

Bueno el mundo del snowboard es muy pequeño en Australia. En las 2 estaciones donde ripo se conoce todo el mundo. Solía haber  2 crews enfrentadas. La nuestra se llamaba Big – Hugs. Looking back, que era un nombre muy cutre y la crew rival se llamaba BHK conocida como Back hat Krew, que es incluso mas cutre. Después nos dimos cuenta que ambos nombres  eran una mierda y que ripabamos las mismas estaciones así que ahora somos una única crew gigante.

El mundo se viene abajo, si  te fueras a una isla desierta que te llevarías, una tabla de surf o una pibita?

Me llevaría los 2 en forma de muñeca hinchable. Cuando haga bueno para surfear hincharía a mi corazoncito y la surfearía como un Surfo-plane(mirar en google imágenes).

Cuando el mar este plano ella me puede f—ar. Y supongo que en una isla desierta habrá una temporada de monzones, ahí la estirare como un trapo y la utilizare para recolectar agua en su espalda.

No hago cosas raras con mi snowboard como Torstein. Los jefes de la cera me persiguieron este año  para encerar mi tablas mas a menudo. Voy a reventar todo en Big Bear.

How many years have you been snowboarding? How did u start? Any pic of ur fist year?

My first year snowboarding was way back in 1999 , I’d ride once a year for 5 days then I did my first season in 2009 and saw the light. How I Came to snowboard is pretty much like everyone else’s story, I used to just copy my Older Brother at everything , we skateboarded and it made sense to snowboard.

We know you love surfing… what scares you more: sharks, racers (skiers) or avalanches?

Avalanches don’t exist in Australia, unless one of the half pipe walls cave in on me and buries me in slush. I’ve got Recco so the Ski Patrol will just probe around the buzzing noise till they find me. Skiers are just tools trapped inside a tools body. I am petrified of sharks, I think every surfer is – it’s unspoken maritime rule not to mention anything about it ever but I’m definitely second guessing myself in deep murky water…

Which kinds of music do u like apart from lady gaga?

Doesn’t Lady Gaga have a penis? I swear I saw some video of her where you can see her Donk. When I’m not gate crashing my way into year 6 school disco’s and being force fed Gaga I like listening to a bit of physcobilly, Spooky Western and hip shit like the dead ghosts etc.Last winter you went to Russia. How did u like the girls there? Did u guys have any problem with the police?

Man, the girls in Russia are genuinely beautiful – never have I seen so many pretty faces. However, they seemed kind of stone cold – an impenetrable force that only allowed one member of the group to break through. Other than that, we experienced the coldest and longest days imaginable on that trip and the only thing that would boost morale was when a cute Russian Girl would walk pass and we would stare at her shit.

We saw you hitting bear mountains stuff. What do you think about that famous resort? Is Cali different than the rest of the world?

It is different and it isn’t, it’s so very easy to do – Australia for good or worse is becoming a lot like America. So the transition is easy as we have pretty much the same food, language and customs like drinking excessively after a good day of snowboarding. And Bear is the pinnacle of all that, snowboarding under the sun in a park that has endless possibilities. I had the best time there at the start of the year and can’t wait to do it again in a few months!

Lets talk about Point break film. I am sure you’ve watched it…. From Australia to bear mtn to Russia to bear mtn… nice trip.. How did u get the $$$$$? Is your crew the new “EX- Presidents” gang of the snowboard or the “crisis” hasn’t come to Australia yet?

Well it’s been almost exactly 22 years since Bodhi – leader of the ‘Ex- Presidents’ took on that 50-year storm in Bells Beach Australia and it’s been 22 years since I’ve been alive. If you do the math, it’s a very likely possibility that I infact could be Bodhi – Reincarnated. I haven’t robbed any banks YET but my little soviet trip was funded by Bataleon Snowboards , they have triple base technology and you should buy one so that they are forced into giving more money to idiots like me.

Shaun white or Kelly Slater?

I was bought up to never trust a redhead, but my stepfather is a Rednut and he’s a good man. Kelly Slater seems more down to Earth, I follow him on instagram and he drew dicks all over his surfboards. I like to draw phalluses all over the place too – so he must be a good man. If it came down to the wire, I’d choose Kelly. You have to be bald to be wise.

Perfect wave or perfect powder?

Perfect Wave, they are few are far between here in my hometown so when it gets good it doesn’t get any better. Saying that though, I had a lot of powder days this season so I’m in the Surfin’ kind of mood…

Jumps or rails?

A good day of jumping is very rewarding, but it takes a toll on my old soul and there for I must stick to the rails however I’m blessed with both in the same run at every resort I’ve ever been too so I’ve never had to choose. Life or death, it’s gotta be the metal though…

Teen or Milf?

As the old saying goes, Beggars can’t be choosers. And I’m on my knees baby.

Where do u usually ride at? Is Australia a good place for the snowboard?

It catches people by surprise, Our two main resorts being Perisher and Thredbo have really good parks – The guys who build them are world class especially this one dude called Bobba , he wears massive red dc pants and builds the nicest terrain parks. But we had a really good season this year with snowfall and so our parks we’re the best they’d ever been. I’d recommend more people come down and ride in Australia, everyone I know who’s come out here keeps coming back…

Let us know something about your crew.

Well, snowboarding is pretty small in Australia. The two resorts I ride at, I turn up to and you pretty much know every single person in the park. There used to be ‘rival’ crews, we were call Big-Hugs – looking back that was a terrible name and the rival crew were called BHK aka Bucket hat ‘krew’ which is an even worse name. After we realized we both had shit names and rode the same resort we gelled into one giant crew.

World is going down… if you were stranded on a desert island. What would u bring: a girl or a surfboard?

I would bring both in the form of a blow up girl. When the surf’s good I will blow up my inflatable sweetheart and ride her like a Surfo-plane.

When it’s flat She can ride me and I’m presuming being a desert island there will be a Monsoon season, at that point I will string her out like a tarp and collect water of her back.

Last question: our website is called ILOVEMYBOARD, how do you love your boards?

I don’t do weird shit with my snowboards like Torstein, I keep it pretty neutral. The wax chiefs hounded me this season to wax my boards more often. I’m going to overshoot everything in big bear.
